Wild At Art Group

Showing at Crescent Valley Hall this year for the C. B. Culture Tour, come see us!
Wild At Art is a group of artist friends who gather online monthly to paint together and we can’t wait to show you what we all have been working on.

Evelyn Kirkaldy will be showing her marvellous paintings of bears and alpine beauty. Bernadette Fuhrmann has been doing amazing beyond-realism work in pastel pet portraiture. Katya Coad‘s gorgeous paintings never fail to uplift. Kathleen Luchtan‘s work in acrylic and pastel warms our hearts with magical realism. And I have my mystical forest scenes and poetry to share.

And we are inviting more artist friends to join us as here as well for the Culture Tour!
We’ll fill the Hall so this is a destination stop not to be missed!

Bring some beauty into your home, give as a gift to a loved one,
or just come to say hi!

‘She Changes’ Podcast

I spent a lovely hour in conversation with Louise Tarrier,
talking about the teachings of the forest, and following our passions in life:

On Finding Beauty – in conversation with Barbara Brown,

“In this deeply enriching episode of She Changes, we explore the intersection of nature, healing, and creativity with Canadian artist Barbara Brown . . . Barbara shares how trees and the natural world have provided not only inspiration for her work but also a deep sense of peace and healing. She reads selections from her writings that beautifully capture the wisdom and tranquillity of the forest. Additionally, we discuss her latest film project, On Beauty, a reflection on nature’s role in both personal and environmental healing.”

All For the Love of the Forest

I love to speak to groups and gatherings: to show my paintings, read poems, tell stories, show my films . . . to share the love I feel for the forest and to inspire people to deepen their connection with nature—and to find and follow their own passion in life.

If you are planning an in-person nature-themed event I would love an invitation to give a presentation, taking people deep into a forest experience through poetry and imagery; delving into the beauty, the wonder, and the wisdom brought to us by time spent in the wild woods.

If your group is online I would love to be a guest speaker. You could invite me to give a live presentation for your group over Zoom, or record a conversation or be interviewed for your podcast, webinar or summit.

I can also offer a mini-workshop on finding magic in the natural world and expressing it creatively.

Send me an email through the Contact form here on the website and let’s talk!

Letter of Endorsement From a Library:

“I can heartily endorse Barbara Brown as a presenter for any library. On Sunday, April 8, 2017, Barbara did an excellent ‘Authors Reading’ at our little Slocan Community Library with 25 people in attendance.

“It was a pleasure to work with Barbara before the event, making plans for the reading, preparing an article and poster, and working out logistics. Barbara’s short professionally-produced film was the perfect introduction to her presentation. She had set up a display of many of the beautiful oil paintings featured in Sylvan Reflections. During her inspirational talk based on her daily walks into our valley forest, these pictures came to life; something more is hidden in each of them and sitting quietly while listening to Barbara’s calming voice speaking and reading is an ideal way to appreciate them. She handled question period well, then sold and signed books for interested patrons. We received a lot of positive feedback after her talk. A visit from Barbara would be a positive experience for any library.”
